
This sauce is wonderful drizzled over pudding, crepes, eclairs, poached pears, pound cake, pie or just about any other dessert. It also makes a great ice cream sundae topping!
If your not satisfied with chocolate syrup on your ice cream, it is worth the effort to make it yourself. There is something about homemade hot fudge that is just better than plain chocolate syrup.
2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
3 Tablespoons Cocoa
1 cup Sugar
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1 cup cold Water
1/2 teaspoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Combine the first four dry ingredients in a saucepan. Add the water and butter and cook over low to medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla. Serve hot or cold over an ice cream flavor of your choice or a delicious dessert such as Bavarian cream or eclairs.Chocolate dessert sauces work great as a dip or fondue for strawberries, cherries, grapes or just about any other kind of fresh fruit.
Spoon over pancakes, waffles, French toast, and crepes.
Drizzle over turnovers, croissants and muffins.
How about as a topping for pudding? Or place a spoonful into the bottom of a parfait dish and then add the pudding.
Try stirring chocolate sauce into cream cheese and place in the center of a fruit tray to use as a dip.
